Sabres rookie forward Victor Olofsson has set an NHL record in becoming the first player to score each of his first seven career goals on the power play.

Olofsson made it seven straight on a one-timer off Rasmus Dahlin's pass from the right circle to open the scoring 6:27 into the second period against Dallas on Monday.

Olofsson made it six in a row with a one-timer off Jack Eichel's pass into the right circle to open the scoring 5:04 into the first period against Montreal on Wednesday night. The Swede's streak dates to the end of last season, when he scored twice in two games.

Ed Snider, the Philadelphia Flyers founder who died in 2016, will be honored with a mural in South Philadelphia.

The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation and Mural Arts Philadelphia will dedicate "Snider Hockey: Inspiring Our Youth" on Saturday at 10th Street and Snyder Avenue. Snider had long said he wanted his youth hockey foundation to become his legacy.

John Tavares has been named captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Toronto unveiled Tavares' new "C" as part of the pregame introduction for the team's season opener Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators. Forwards Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and defenseman Morgan Rielly were named alternate captains.

Matthews scored twice in Toronto's four-goal second period, and the Leafs won 5-3.
